Zakariyya, from al-Sha'bi, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, regarding His saying: "Listeners for other people," the people of Fadak. It was narrated from Mujahid that they are the Jews.

[6358] I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Listeners for other people," the Jews of Khaybar, and that was when the woman committed adultery.
His saying, the Almighty: "They have not come to you."
[6359] Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, saying: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "Listeners to falsehood, listeners for other people," he said: "For other people who have not come to you from the People of the Scripture. These are listeners to those other people who did not come, they tell them falsehood: Muhammad is a liar and he is not from the Torah, so do not believe in him. And they, those who have not come to you, do not distort [it]."
His saying: "They distort."
[6360] Usayd ibn 'Asim narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr al-Humaydi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, Zakariyya narrated to us, from al-Sha'bi, from Jabir: "They distort the words from their places."
[6361] I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "They distort the words," they add to it and subtract from it.
His saying, the Almighty: "The words."
[6362] My father narrated to us, Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "They distort the words," he means: they distort the limits of Allah in the Torah.
His saying, the Almighty: "From after their places."
[6363] Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "They distort the words from after their places," they distorted the [punishment of] stoning and made it lashing."
