8606 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim told us, Ishaq ibn Muhammad al-Musayyabi told me, from Nafi' ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Nu'aym, from a group of the Followers (Tabi'un), from Ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Everything in the Quran mentioned as "winds" (al-riyah) is a mercy, and everything in the Quran mentioned as "wind" (al-rih) is a punishment.
His saying, the Almighty: "As glad tidings before His mercy."
8607 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And it is He who sends the winds as glad tidings before His mercy," he said: So people rejoice because of them.
8608 - 'Ubayd Allah ibn Isma'il mentioned, Khalaf told us, al-Khaffaf told us, from Isma'il, who said: 'Abd Allah al-Yamami used to recite it as "bushuran min qabli mubashshirat" (glad tidings before [that which] gives glad tidings).
His saying, the Almighty: "Before His mercy."
8609 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Before His mercy," and as for His mercy, it is the rain.
His saying, the Almighty: "Until when they have carried [as the clouds] heavy clouds, We drive them [to a dead land]." (The verse).
8610 - My father told us, Sulayman ibn Harb told us, Hammad ibn Yazid told us, from 'Abd al-Jalil, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No rain ever descends except by a scale (mizan).
8611 - My father told us, Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq told us, al-Husayn ibn Waqid told us, 'Ulya ibn Ahmar told us, from 'Ikrimah, who said: Allah sends down water from the seventh heaven, and a single drop of it falls onto the cloud like a camel.
His saying, the Almighty: "And We bring forth thereby some of all [kinds of] fruits."
8612 - My father told us, Abu al-Ash'ath told us, Mu'tamir told us, he said: I heard my father, from Sayyar, from Khalid ibn Yazid, who said: We were with 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, and they mentioned water, so Khalid ibn Yazid said: Some of it is from the heaven, and some of it is from what the clouds provide from the sea, which thunder and lightning make fresh. As for that which is from the sea, it does not produce vegetation, and as for the vegetation, it is from that which was from the heaven.
٨٦٠٦ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الطِّهْرَانِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، حَدَّثَنِي إسحاق ابن مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُسَيَّبِيُّ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ جَمَاعَةٍ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُلُّ شَيْءٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ مِنَ الرِّيَاحِ فَهِيَ رَحْمَةٌ، وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ مِنَ الرِّيحِ فَهُوَ عَذَابٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ
٨٦٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ قَالَ: فَيَسْتَبْشِرُ بِهَا النَّاسُ.
٨٦٠٨ - ذَكَرَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا خَلَفٌ، ثنا الْخَفَّافُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ:
كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْيَمَامِيُّ، يَقْرَؤُهَا بُشَرٌ مِنْ قَبْلِ مُبَشِّرَاتٍ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ
٨٦٠٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الأَوْدِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ وَأَمَّا رَحْمَتُهُ فَهُوَ الْمَطَرُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: حَتَّى إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالاً سُقْنَاهُ الآيَةَ.
٨٦١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَلِيلِ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: مَا نَزَلَ مَطَرٌ إِلا بِمِيزَانٍ.
٨٦١١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، ثنا عليَاءُ بْنُ أَحْمَرَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: يُنْزِلُ اللَّهُ الْمَاءَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ فَتَقَعُ الْقَطْرَةُ مِنْهُ عَلَى السَّحَابَةِ مِثْلُ الْبَعِيرِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ
٨٦١٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو الأَشْعَثَ، ثنا مُعْتَمِرٌ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ فَذَكَرُوا الْمَاءَ فَقَالَ خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ:
مِنْهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ، وَمِنْهُ مِمَّا يَسْقِيهِ الْغَيْمُ مِنَ الْبَحْرِ فَيُعْذِبُهُ الرَّعْدُ وَالْبَرْقُ، وَأَمَّا مَا كَانَ مِنَ الْبَحْرِ فَلا يَكُونُ لَهُ نَبَاتٌ، وَأَمَّا النَّبَاتُ فَمِمَّا كَانَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ.
