الترجمة · EN

His saying, the Almighty: "And that which is evil - it does not emerge except with difficulty."

8619 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding the saying of the Almighty: "And that which is evil - it does not emerge except with difficulty," he says: He set forth a parable for the disbeliever like the saline, salty land from which no blessing emerges; the disbeliever is the evil one, and his deed is evil.

His saying, the Almighty: "Except with difficulty."

8620 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: "It does not emerge except with difficulty," and "nakid" is the small thing that does not benefit.

His saying, the Almighty: "Thus do We diversify the signs for a people who are grateful."

8621 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb reported, Haywah ibn Shurayh informed me, from Zahrah ibn Ma'bad al-Qurashi, that he heard Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli saying: Prayer is gratitude, fasting is gratitude, and every good deed you do for Allah is gratitude, and the best of gratitude is praise (al-hamd).

His saying, the Almighty: "We certainly sent Noah to his people."

8622 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Ibrahim ibn al-Fadl ibn Abi Suwayd told us, Abu 'Awanah told us, from Qatadah, from Anas, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "The first prophet sent was Noah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)."

8623 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by way of reading, Ibn Wahb reported, Salamah ibn 'Ali informed me, from Sa'id ibn Bashir, from Qatadah: That Noah was sent from the Peninsula.

8624 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah told us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl told us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq told me, saying: It was part of the narrative of Noah and the narrative of his people regarding what Allah related upon the tongue of His Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and what the People of the Book from among the Torah-followers mention, and what was preserved of the narrations from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas, and from 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr, that Allah sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them for a thousand years less fifty years, calling them to Allah, while disobedience had spread throughout the land, the tyrants had become numerous, and they were arrogant toward Allah with great arrogance. Noah was—in what the scholars mention—patient and forbearing; no prophet encountered from his people more trials than he encountered, except for a prophet who was killed.
