9038 - Usayd ibn 'Asim told us, al-Husayn ibn Hafs told us, Sufyan told us, from a man, from al-Hasan regarding his saying: "in this world [that which is] good," he said: The good provision and the beneficial knowledge in this world.

And the second aspect:

9039 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' told us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding "in this world [that which is] good" meaning: wellness in this world.

And the third aspect:

9040 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Safwan told us, al-Walid told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah told me, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi regarding this verse: "in this world [that which is] good," he said: A righteous wife is among the good things.

His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, we have turned back to You."

[The First Aspect]

9041 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj told us, Abu Nu'aym told us, from Isra'il, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid, from Ibn 'Abbas: "We have turned back to You" (hudna ilayka) means: We have repented to You.

It was also narrated from Abu al-Tufayl, Abu al-'Aliyah, Mujahid, Sa'id ibn Jubayr (1), Ibrahim al-Taymi, al-Nakha'i, 'Ikrimah, 'Ata' al-Khurasani, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, al-Dahhak, and Qatadah something similar.

The Second Aspect:

9042 - My father told us, al-Mu'alla told us, from his father, Harun ibn Abi 'Isa al-Shami told us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he said: I heard Abu Wajzah saying: "Indeed, we have turned back to You" (inna hudna ilayka) with a kasrah on the ha', meaning: We have inclined.

9043 - It was mentioned from Abu al-Nadr Hashim ibn al-Qasim, al-Mas'udi told us, from 'Ali ibn 'Ali ibn al-Sa'ib, from Ibrahim, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, he said: We are more knowledgeable about why the Jews were called "Jews," for among them was the word of Moses, peace be upon him: "Indeed, we have turned back to You" (inna hudna ilayka); and why the Christians were called "Nazarenes" was the word of Jesus, peace be upon him: "Be helpers of Allah."
