It was narrated from Masruq that he said: There is no nafal (additional spoil) on the day of the clash.

Those who interpreted the verse to mean that the nafal is what the raiding parties (saraya) capture:
8765 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn Salih narrated to us, from his father, from al-Sha'bi, regarding (the verse): "They ask you about the anfal (spoils of war)," he said: It is what the raiding parties (saraya) capture.

Those who interpreted the verse as being abrogated, as it was abrogated by: "And know that whatever thing you gain..." the verse.
8766 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "They ask you about the anfal. Say: The anfal are for Allah and the Messenger," he said: The anfal are the spoils of war that belonged solely to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him); no one had any share in them. Whatever the raiding parties of the Muslims captured, they would bring it to him, and whoever held back even a needle or a thread from it, it would be ghulul (misappropriation). So they asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) to give them some of it. Allah the Almighty said: "They ask you about the anfal," meaning: regarding the kinship of the Prophet (peace be upon him). "Say: The anfal"—I have designated them for My Messenger; you have no part in them. "So fear Allah and settle your differences." Then He revealed: "And know that whatever thing you gain, then for Allah is its fifth and for the Messenger and for the near relatives..." the verse.

8767 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and 'Umar ibn Salih al-Wasiti narrated to us, both said: 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Sufyan ibn Husayn, from al-Hakam, from Mujahid, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "So fear Allah and settle your differences," he said: This is a strict command from Allah to the believers to fear Allah and to settle their differences.
His saying the Almighty: "And settle your differences"
8768 - My father narrated to us, al-Musayyab ibn Wadih narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from Sufyan, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn 'Ayyash ibn Abi Rabi'ah, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from Makhul, from Abu Salam, from Abu Umamah al-Bahili, from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and I witnessed Badr with him. We encountered the polytheists and Allah defeated the enemy. A group went off in their tracks, putting them to flight and killing them, while a group turned towards the camp, seizing and collecting it, and a group closed in around the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) so that the enemy would not strike him at an unguarded moment.
الزَّحْفَانِ، أَوْ قَالَ: صَفَّانِ، فَإِذَا الْتَقَى الصَّفَّانِ، أَوْ قَالَ: الزَّحْفَانِ، فَالْمَغْنَمُ
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ أنه قال: لا نفل يوم الزحف.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: يسئلونك عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ قُلِ الأَنْفَالُ لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ قَالَ: الأَنْفَالُ: الْمَغَانِمُ كَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- خَالِصَةً لَيْسَ لأَحَدٍ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ مَا أَصَابَ سَرَايَا الْمُسْلِمِينَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَتَوْهُ بِهِ، فَمَنْ حَبَسَ مِنْهُ إِبْرَةً أَوْ سِلْكًا فَهُوَ غُلُولٌ، فَسَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- أَنْ يُعْطِيهِمْ مِنْهَا، قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى:
يسئلونك عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ يَعْنِي: قَرَابَةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- قُلِ الأَنْفَالُ جَعَلْتُهَا لِرَسُولِي، لَيْسَ لَكُمْ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي الْقُرْبَى الآية.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا
٨٧٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ قَالَ: هَذَا تَحْرِيجٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْ يَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ، وَأَنْ يُصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِهِمْ.

٨٧٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا الْمُسَيَّبُ بْنُ وَاضِحٍ ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلامٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- وَشَهِدْتُ مَعَهُ بَدْرًا. فَلَقِينَا الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَهَزَمَ اللَّهُ الْعَدُوَّ، فَانْطَلَقَتْ طَائِفَةٌ فِي آثَارِهِمْ يَهْزِمُونَ وَيَقْتُلُونَ، وَأَكَبَّتْ طَائِفَةٌ فِي الْعَسْكَرِ يَحُوزُونَهُ
