"And they were not its allies. Its allies are none but the righteous, those who depart from it and perform prayer near it," meaning: you and those who believed in you.
His saying, the Almighty: "But most of them do not know."
9038 - Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Ala' narrated to us, Uthman ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Bishr ibn Umarah narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn Abbas regarding "But most of them do not know," he says: They do not understand.
His saying, the Almighty: "And their prayer at the House was not."
9039 - My father narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn al-Rabi' narrated to us, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "And their prayer at the House," which they claim is a means by which they are defended, "was not but whistling and clapping," and that is what does not please Allah.
His saying, the Almighty: "Except whistling."
[The First Aspect]
9040 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Idris al-Awdi, from Atiyyah, from Ibn Umar who said: "Al-muka" is whistling. It has been narrated from Ibn Abbas, Nubayt ibn Sharit al-Ashja'i, Mujahid in one of his two sayings, Sa'id ibn Jubayr in one of his two sayings, Abu Raja' al-Utaridi, Hujr ibn Anbas, Qatadah, Muhammad ibn Ka'b, and Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam similarly.
9041 - Ahmad ibn Uthman ibn Hakim informed us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "Except whistling," and "al-muka" is whistling like a white bird called al-muka, which is found in the land of Hejaz.
The Second Aspect:
9042 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "Whistling," [is] the insertion of their fingers into their mouths.
The Third Aspect:
9043 - Abu Abd Allah al-Tahrani narrated to us, Hafs ibn Umar informed us, al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to us, from Ikrimah, regarding His saying: "And their prayer at the House was not but whistling," he said: "Al-muka" is like the blowing of a horn.
