His saying, the Almighty: "Then he whose scales are heavy"
8226 - My father told us, Yahya ibn al-Mughirah told us, Jarir informed us, from al-A‘mash, from Mujahid, regarding: "Then he whose scales are heavy," he said: He whose good deeds are heavy.
His saying, the Almighty: "Then it is those who are the successful."
8227 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, Abu Ghassan Muhammad ibn ‘Amr informed us, Salama told us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: Regarding what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad told me, from ‘Ikrimah or Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "Then it is those who are the successful," meaning those who attained what they sought, and were saved from the evil of that which they fled from.
His saying, the Almighty: "And he whose scales are light."

His saying, the Almighty: "Then it is those who have lost their souls."
8229 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, Abu Usamah told us, from Malik ibn Mighwal, who said: I heard ‘Ubayd Allah ibn al-Ghayzar say: On the Day of Resurrection, feet will be like arrows in a quiver, and the fortunate one is he who finds a place for his feet. At the scale, there is an angel who proclaims: "Behold, so-and-so, son of so-and-so, his scales are heavy; he has attained a happiness after which he will never be miserable again. Behold, so-and-so, son of so-and-so, his scales are light; he has become wretched, never to be happy again."
His saying, the Almighty: "And We have certainly established you upon the earth."
8230 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ told us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma‘mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding his saying: "And We have certainly established you upon the earth," he says: We gave [resources] to them.
His saying, the Almighty: "And We have made for you therein livelihoods."
8231 - Muhammad ibn Musa al-Maqri al-Qasani told us, Zuhayr told us, Dawud ibn Hilal al-Nasibi told us, from Asad ibn ‘Amr, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, regarding his saying: "And We have made for you therein livelihoods," meaning: The livestock which He has subjected to you.
