‘Abbad ibn Maysarah told us, from al-Hasan, who said: Adam descended in India, Eve in Jeddah, Iblis in Dust Maysan—a few miles from Basra—and the serpent descended in Isfahan.

8318 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, ‘Amr ibn Hammad told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: He said: Allah said: "Descend, all of you from it," so they descended: Adam descended in India, and He brought down with him a handful of the leaves of Paradise and scattered them in India, so the tree of perfume grew. The origin of what is brought from India of perfume is from that handful of leaves with which Adam descended. Adam had grasped them when he was brought out of Paradise out of grief for Paradise when he was removed from it.

8319 - My father informed us, Ayyub ibn Muhammad al-Raqqi told us, Damrah told us, from al-Nasri ibn Yahya, who said: Adam was made to descend from Paradise and with him were the seeds. Iblis placed his hand upon them, so whatever his hand touched lost its benefit.

His saying, the Almighty: "Some of you to others are enemies."

8320 - Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-A‘la informed us by way of reading, Ibn Wahb reported, he said: And ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told me, from Isra’il, from Isma‘il al-Suddi: Someone who heard Ibn ‘Abbas say: "Descend, some of you to others are enemies," he said: Adam, Eve, Iblis, and the serpent.

His saying, the Almighty: "And for you on the earth is a place of settlement."

8321 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Musa told us, Isra’il reported from al-Suddi, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: "And for you on the earth is a place of settlement," he said: A place of settlement: the graves. It was reported from Ibn Mas‘ud and al-Suddi the like of that.

8322 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn Hatim al-Zimmi told us, ‘Abidah ibn Humayd told us, from ‘Ammar al-Duhni, from Humayd al-Madani, from Kurayb, from Ibn ‘Abbas: His saying: "And for you on the earth is a place of settlement," he said: A place of settlement above the earth and a place of settlement beneath the earth.

8323 - ‘Isam ibn Rawwad told us, Adam told us, Abu Ja‘far told us, from al-Rabi‘, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And for you on the earth is a place of settlement," he said: It is His saying: "Who made the earth a bed for you."
