from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "A mosque founded on righteousness"—meaning: the Mosque of Quba is more worthy for you to stand in.
10077 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Hatim al-Zimmi narrated to us, 'Ubaydah ibn Humayd narrated to us, 'Ammar al-Duhni narrated to me, he said: I entered the Mosque of Quba to pray in it, then I turned to my right and Abu Salamah saw me and said: "Did you wish to pray in a mosque founded on righteousness from the first day?" 'Ammar said: He informed me that what is between the minaret and the qibla is an addition that 'Uthman added. It was narrated from 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Dahhak, 'Atiyyah, Ibn Buraydah, Qatadah, and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam something similar.
And the Third Aspect:
10078 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Sa'id ibn al-Walid al-Khuza'i narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-'Uryan al-Harithi narrated to us from Ibn 'Awn from Muhammad: that he used to consider every mosque built in Medina to have been founded on righteousness.
His saying, the Almighty: "Within it are men who love to be purified; and Allah loves those who are pure."
10079 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid al-Bayruti informed us by way of reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb informed me, 'Utbah ibn Abi Hakim narrated to us, Talhah ibn Nafi' narrated to us, Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, and Anas ibn Malik al-Ansari narrated to us: That when this verse was revealed, "Within it are men who love to be purified; and Allah loves those who are pure," the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "O company of the Ansar, Allah has praised you with good, so what is this purification of yours?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we perform ablution for prayer and we perform ghusl (ritual bathing) due to janaba (ritual impurity)." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Is there anything other than that with it?" They said: "No, except that one of us, when he goes to defecate, likes to clean himself with water." He said: "That is it, so hold fast to it."
10080 - Abu al-Bardad 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd al-Salam al-Misri narrated to us, Wahb Allah ibn Rashid narrated to us from Yunus, he said: Abu al-Zinad said: 'Urwah informed me from 'Uwaym ibn Sa'idah from the Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf. As for 'Uwaym ibn Sa'idah, it is he whom it reached us that he said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are the ones whom Allah the Almighty said regarding: 'Within it are men who love to be purified; and Allah loves those who are pure'?" So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Excellent are the people, among whom is 'Uwaym ibn Sa'idah."
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: لَمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى يَعْنِي: مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءٍ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَقُومَ فِيهِ
١٠٠٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ الزِّمِّيُّ ثنا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمَّارٌ الدُّهْنِيُّ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءٍ أُصَلِّي فِيهِ، فَالْتَفَتُ عَنْ يَمِينِي فَأَبْصَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَ: أَحْبَبْتَ أَنْ تُصَلِّي فِي مَسْجِدٍ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ؟ قَالَ عَمَّارٌ:
فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ مَا بَيْنَ الصَّوْمَعَةِ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ زِيَادَةٌ زَادَهَا عُثْمَانُ، وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَالضَّحَّاكِ وَعَطِيَّةَ وَابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ وَقَتَادَةَ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ:
نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
١٠٠٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْعُرْيَانِ الْحَارِثِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ: أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَرَى كُلَّ مَسْجِدٍ بُنِيَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ.
١٠٠٧٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مَزْيَدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ قِرَاءَةً أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ثنا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ ثنا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ثنا أَبُو أَيُّوبَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ وَجَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ: أَنَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يتطهروا والله يحب المطهرين قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا مَعْشَرَ الأَنْصَارِ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَثْنَى عَلَيْكُمْ خَيْرًا، فَمَا طُهُورُكُمْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، نَتَوَضَّأُ لِلصَّلاةِ، وَنَغْتَسِلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- فَهَلْ مَعَ ذَلِكَ غَيْرُهُ؟
قَالُوا لَا، غَيْرَ أَنَّ أَحَدُنَا إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى الْغَائِطِ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَسْتَنْجِيَ بِالْمَاءِ، قَالَ: هُوَ ذَاكَ فَعَلَيْكُمُوهُ.
١٠٠٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْبَرْدَادِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلامِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو الزِّنَادِ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ عَنْ عُوَيْمِ بْنِ سَاعِدَةَ مِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَأَمَّا عُوَيْمُ بْنُ سَاعِدَةَ: فَهُوَ الَّذِي بَلَغَنَا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَنِ الَّذِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ المطهرين؟
فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِعْمَ الْقَوْمُ مِنْهُمْ عُوَيْمُ بْنُ سَاعِدَةَ.
