The second interpretation:
10254 - Abu Ghassan Malik ibn Isma'il told us, Qays told us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "Lord of the worlds," he said: "The Jinn and mankind." And it was narrated from 'Ali with an isnad (chain of narration) that cannot be relied upon, and the like was narrated from Mujahid.
His saying, the Exalted: "And if Allah were to hasten the evil for people"
10255 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "And if Allah were to hasten the evil for people as they hasten the good," [it refers to] the saying of a man to his child or his wealth when he is angry with it: "O Allah, do not bless it, and curse it."
10256 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn al-A'la al-San'ani told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah, regarding: "And if Allah were to hasten the evil for people as they hasten the good," he said: "It is a man's supplication against himself and his wealth with that which he dislikes to have answered for him."
His saying, the Exalted: "As they hasten the good"
10257 - It was mentioned from Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham, from Sharik, from Salim, from Sa'id, regarding His saying: "And if Allah were to hasten the evil for people as they hasten the good," he said: "It is the man who supplicates against himself: 'O Allah, disgrace him, O Allah, do such and such to him.' If Allah were to hasten that for them, just as Allah hastens for them [the fulfillment of]: 'O Allah, provide for me,' their term would have been brought to an end for them."
His saying, the Exalted: "Their term would have been brought to an end for them"
10258 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "Their term would have been brought to an end for them," [meaning] He would have destroyed the one who was supplicated against and caused him to die.
His saying, the Exalted: "So We leave those who do not look forward to meeting Us"
10259 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah, [regarding] "those who do not look forward to meeting Us," [they are] the polytheists of the people of Makkah.
His saying, the Exalted: "In their transgression, they wander blindly"
10260 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad told us, Adam told us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi told us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding: "In their transgression," [meaning] in their misguidance; and the discussion regarding it has already preceded."
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١٠٢٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا قَيْسٌ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ قَالَ الْجِنُّ وَالإِنْسُ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ بِإِسْنَادٍ لَا يُعْتَمَدُ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُهُ وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ مِثْلُهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ اللَّهَ لِلنَّاسِ الشَّرَّ
١٠٢٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا ورقاء، عن ابن نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ الشَّرَّ اسْتِعْجَالَهُمْ بِالْخَيْرِ قَوْلُ الإِنْسَانِ لِوَلَدِهِ وَمَالِهِ إِذَا غَضِبَ عَلَيْهِ: اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُبَارِكْ فِيهِ وَالْعَنْهُ.
١٠٢٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ الشَّرَّ اسْتِعْجَالَهُمْ بِالْخَيْرِ قَالَ هُوَ دُعَاءُ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: اسْتِعْجَالَهُمْ بِالْخَيْرِ
١٠٢٥٧ - ذُكِرَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ:
وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ الشَّرَّ اسْتِعْجَالُهُمْ بِالْخَيْرِ قَالَ: هُوَ الرَّجُلُ يَدْعُو عَلَى نَفْسِهِ:
اللَّهُمَّ اخْزِهِ اللَّهُمَّ افْعَلْ بِهِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَلَوْ عَجَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ ذَلِكَ، كَمَا يُعَجِّلُ اللَّهُ لَهُمُ:
اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي لَقُضِيَ إِلَيْهِمُ الأَجَلُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَقُضِيَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَجَلُهُمْ
١٠٢٥٨ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قوله: لقضي إليهم أجلهم لَأَهْلَكَ مَنْ دَعَا عَلَيْهِ وَلأَمَاتَهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَنَذَرُ الذين لا يرجون لقاءنا
١٠٢٥٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَاءَنَا مُشْرِكِي أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
١٠٢٦٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْنِي: فِي ضَلالِهِمْ، وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ الْقَوْلُ فِيهِ.
