His saying, the Exalted: "They call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in religion."

10298 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' told us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Sufyan told us, from al-A'mash, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu 'Ubaydah regarding His saying: "Sincere to Him in religion," he said: Here is its interpretation: O Living, O Sustainer (Ya Hayy, Ya Qayyum).

10299 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la al-San'ani told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah regarding: "They call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in religion," he said: When distress touches them at sea, they make their supplication sincere to Allah.

10300 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Abu Usamah told us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding: "Sincere to Him in religion," he said: When you say there is no god but Allah, say after it: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

10301 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Abu Khalid told us, from Ibn 'Ajlan, from 'Abbas ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Ma'bad, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: Sincerity is like this, and Abu Khalid pointed with his index finger.

His saying, the Exalted: "If You save us from this, we will surely be among the thankful."

10302 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed me in what he wrote to me, my father told me, my uncle told me, from his father, from 'Atiyyah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: If a man loses his way, he calls upon Allah sincerely: "If You save us from this, we will surely be among the thankful."

His saying, the Exalted: "Then when He saves them, at once they commit injustice upon the earth without right."

10303 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Commit injustice" (yabghuna), he said: They play/mock (yal'abun).

His saying, the Exalted: "O mankind."

10304 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, Abu Ghassan told us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl told us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he said: In what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad told me, from 'Ikrimah, or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "O mankind," meaning both groups, the disbelievers and the hypocrites.
