10357 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj told us, Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us, from Abu Sinan, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "Together," he said: "The righteous and the wicked."
His saying, the Exalted: "Then We will say to those who associated others with Allah, 'Remain in your places, you and your partners.'"
10358 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid told us, Yazid ibn Zuray' told us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, he said: "There is no partner for Allah in the heavens nor on the earth."
His saying, the Exalted: "So We will separate them."
10359 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, regarding the saying of Allah: "So We will separate them," he said: "We will differentiate between them."
His saying, the Exalted: "And their partners will say," the verse.
10360 - By the same chain, I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, regarding the saying of Allah: "And their partners will say, 'You did not worship us,'" and they will say: "Yes, we indeed used to worship you."
His saying, the Exalted: "But sufficient is Allah as a witness between us and between you."
10361 - By the same chain, regarding His saying: "But sufficient is Allah as a witness between us and between you, that we were neither hearing, nor seeing, nor speaking."
10362 - My father told us, 'Isa ibn Ja'far, the judge of al-Rayy, told us, Muslim ibn Khalid told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, he said: "A time will come upon people on the Day of Resurrection in which the people of Shirk (polytheism) will not see the people of Tawhid (monotheism) being forgiven. They will say: 'Our Lord, we were not polytheists.' Allah, the Exalted, will say: 'See how they lied against themselves and what they used to invent has vanished from them.' Then, after that, there will be a time in which there is severity; the gods whom they used to worship other than Allah will be set up for them. He will say: 'Are these the ones you used to worship other than Allah?' They will say: 'Yes, these are the ones we used to worship.' The gods will say to them: 'By Allah, we did not hear, nor see, nor understand, nor did we know that you were worshipping us.' They will say: 'Yes, by Allah, it was you we were worshipping.' He said: So Allah will say to them: 'But sufficient is Allah as a witness between us and between you, that we were unaware of your worship.'"
