[meaning] His saying: "And the witnesses will say." He said: The witnesses are four: the prophets, the angels, the believers, and the [human] bodies.

10776 - My father told us, ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Munib told us, Abu Mu‘adh al-Nahwi told us, from ‘Ubayd ibn Sulayman, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "And the witnesses will say," meaning: the prophets and the messengers.

10777 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa’ told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, [regarding] "the witnesses," he said: "These are the angels who will testify against the Children of Adam regarding their deeds."

His saying, the Exalted: "These are the ones who lied about their Lord"

10778 - And my father told us, ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Munib told us, Abu Mu‘adh al-Nahwi told us, from ‘Ubayd ibn Sulayman, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "And the witnesses will say, 'These are the ones who lied about their Lord,'" he says: "They say: 'Our Lord, we brought them the truth, but they disbelieved. So we bear witness that they lied about You, our Lord.'"

His saying, the Exalted: "Unquestionably, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers"

10779 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, Yunus ibn Bukayr told us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq told us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Amr ibn Hazm told us, from his father, who said: "We have with us this document of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, which he wrote for ‘Amr ibn Hazm when he sent him to Yemen, in which he stated: 'Indeed, Allah dislikes injustice and has forbidden it,' and He said: 'Unquestionably, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.'"

10780 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, Abu Nu‘aym told us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, who said: "He cursed some of these tyrants—al-Hajjaj or someone else—saying: 'Unquestionably, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.'"

10781 - My father told us, Salih ibn ‘Ubayd Allah al-Hashimi told us, Abu al-Malih told us, from Maymun ibn Mihran, who said: "A man might be praying while cursing himself in his recitation, for he says: 'Unquestionably, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers,' while he is himself a wrongdoer."

His saying, the Exalted: "Those who avert [people] from the way of Allah"

10782 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash‘ath told us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali told us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "Those who avert [people] from the way of Allah," he said: "He is Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace; the Quraysh averted the people from him."
