11061 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "rushing toward him," he said: They are trotting, which is haste in walking.

11062 - My father told us, 'Isa ibn Ziyad told us, Ya'qub told us, from Hafs, from Shamir ibn 'Atiyyah, he said: Lot had taken a covenant from his wife that she would not disclose anything regarding his guests. He said: When Gabriel and those with him entered upon him, she saw them in a form the like of which she had never seen. She set out running to her people and came to the assembly (al-nadi), and gestured with her hand like this, describing them by their beauty and appearance. He said: They came rushing toward the people of Lot, and Lot said to them what Allah said in the Quran.

His saying, the Exalted: "And before that, they were doing evil deeds."

11063 - My father told us, 'Ali ibn Muhammad al-Tanafisi told us, Muhammad ibn Fadl told us, from 'Umar ibn Abi Za'idah, from Jami' ibn Shaddad Abu Sakhrah, he said: Sodomy (al-lutiyyah) among the people of Lot existed among women forty years before it existed among men.

11064 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali ibn Ma'dan al-Fasawi told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat al-Nasa'i told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, regarding "And before that, they were doing evil deeds," he says: They used to have intercourse with men.

His saying, the Exalted: "O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you."

11065 - My father told us, al-Hasan ibn 'Umar ibn Shaqiq al-Harami told us, Ja'far ibn Sulayman told us, from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni, from 'Abd Allah ibn Rabah, from Ka'b regarding "these are my daughters; they are purer for you," he said: Marry them.

11066 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Waki' told us, from Sufyan, from Layth, from Mujahid, he said: regarding "these are my daughters; they are purer for you," he said: They were not his biological daughters, but rather they were from his nation, and every prophet is the father of his nation.

11067 - My father told us, Sulayman ibn Harb told us, Hammad ibn Zayd told us, from Muhammad ibn Shabib, from Ja'far ibn Ubayy, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "these are my daughters; they are purer for you," he said: He only invited them to their own women. He said: Every prophet is the father of his nation. In some of the readings, it is: "The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers," and he is a father to them.
