His saying: "And as for those who were blessed, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord wills." He says: The people of blessedness in Paradise, abiding therein, "except what Allah wills." He says: Except for the monotheists who return to them from the outer regions. So the two exceptions are both regarding the people of Tawhid, because there is no exception for the people of polytheism, and the people of polytheism are in Hell, abiding [therein], neither perishing nor exiting.
11242 - My father told us, 'Abd Allah ibn al-Walid ibn Mihran al-Madaini told us, Bashshar ibn Qirat told us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "And as for those who were blessed, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein," the exception applies to those who remained in the Fire until they emerge from it.
11243 - My father told us, Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-Hamid told us, Ya'qub al-Qummi told us, from Abu Malik, from Abu Sinan, regarding His saying: "And as for those who were blessed, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein... except what your Lord wills," and His will is their abiding therein. Then He followed it with "a gift uninterrupted."
11244 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la al-San'ani told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim, regarding His saying: "Except what your Lord wills," he said: It is also regarding those who exit the Fire and enter Paradise. He says: "Abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord wills." He says: Except for what they stayed in the Fire until they were caused to enter Paradise.
His saying, the Exalted: "A gift uninterrupted."
11245 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "A gift uninterrupted," he says: A gift that is not cut off. It was narrated similarly from Abu al-'Aliyah, Mujahid, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, al-Nadr ibn 'Arabi, and Qatadah.
11246 - My father told us, Abu Salamah Musa ibn Isma'il told us, Mubarak told us, from al-Hasan, regarding "A gift uninterrupted," he said: Nothing shall be diminished from it.
His saying, the Exalted: "So do not be in doubt over what these people worship. They worship not except as their fathers worshipped before."
11247 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi told us, Yazid ibn Zuray', told us, Sa'id told us, from Qatadah, he said: These people do not worship these idols except that they may intercede [for them] with Allah.
