His saying, the Exalted: "And Our might (punishment) shall not be turned back from the criminal people."
12069 - And by this chain, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And Our might shall not be turned back from the criminal people." This is because Allah sent the messengers, and they called their people and informed them that whoever obeys Allah shall be saved, and whoever disobeys Him shall be punished and go astray.
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, there was in their stories a lesson."
12070 - Abu Zur‘a narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr ibn ‘Umara reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "A lesson (ibra)," he said: Knowledge for those of understanding. He said: For those of intellect.
12071 - Hajjaj ibn Hamza narrated to us, Shababa narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "A lesson for those of understanding," meaning for Joseph and his brothers.
His saying, the Exalted: "It was not a fabricated tale, but a confirmation of what came before it."
12072 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatada regarding His saying: "It was not a fabricated tale, but a confirmation of what came before it," the Qur’an confirms the scriptures that were before it and bears witness to them.
12073 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq regarding His saying: "But a confirmation of what came before it," meaning: of the news regarding it that existed before it.
His saying, the Exalted: "And a detailed explanation of everything."
12074 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Jumahir narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from someone other than Qatada, regarding His saying: "And a detailed explanation of everything" of its affairs.
12075 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Aruba narrated to us, from Qatada regarding His saying: "And a detailed explanation of everything," [it means] its lawful and its unlawful, its obedience and its disobedience.
His saying, the Exalted: "And guidance and mercy."
[As for] the explanation of "guidance," it has already passed previously.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُنَا، عَنِ الْقَوْمِ المجرمين
١٢٠٦٩ - وَبِهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَلا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُنَا، عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ بَعَثَ الرُّسُلَ فَدَعُوا قَوْمَهُمْ وَأَخْبَرُوهُمْ أَنَّهُ مَنْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ نُجِّيَ وَمَنْ عَصَاهُ عُذِّبَ وَغَوَى.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَقَدْ كَانَ فِي قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ.
١٢٠٧٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابٌ أَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: عِبْرَةٌ قَالَ مَعْرِفَةٌ لأُولِي الأَلْبَابِ قَالَ: لِذَوِي الْعُقُولِ.
١٢٠٧١ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عبرة لأولي الألباب يعين لِيُوسُفَ وَإِخْوَتِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَى وَلَكِنْ تَصْدِيقَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يديه.
١٢٠٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلَهُ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَى وَلَكِنْ تَصْدِيقَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَالْقُرْآنُ يُصَدِّقُ الْكُتُبَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ وَيَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهَا.
١٢٠٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَوْلُهُ: وَلَكِنْ تَصْدِيقَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ أَيْ: لِمَا كَانَ قَبْلَهُ مِنَ الْخَبَرِ عَنْهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ.
١٢٠٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ غَيْرِ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِنْ شَأْنِهِ.
١٢٠٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ. حَلالُهُ وَحَرَامُهُ وَطَاعَتُهُ وَمَعْصِيَتُهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَهُدًى ورحمة.
تفسير: هدى قَدْ مَرَّ فِيمَا قَبْلُ.
