His saying, the Almighty: "We command its wealthy ones"

13216 - From Abu al-Aliyah, may Allah be pleased with him, he used to read: "Ammarna mutrafeha" (with a shadda), saying: "We appointed rulers over them."

13217 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that he read: "Ammarna mutrafeha"... meaning "with the mudd" [i.e., lengthening the vowel], he said: "We increased its evildoers."

13218 - From Abu al-Darda, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding "Ammarna mutrafeha," he said: "We increased [them]."

His saying, the Almighty: "Whoever desires the immediate [world]"

13219 - From al-Dahhak, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "Whoever desires the immediate [world]" he said: "Whoever has the world as his concern, his desire, his request, and his intention, Allah hastens for him what He wills therein, then He forces him into Hell, where he will burn, condemned and driven far away from the mercy of Allah." And regarding His saying: "But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer - it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by Allah]" he said: "Allah appreciated the little from him and overlooked the much [of his shortcomings]."

His saying, the Almighty: "To all, We extend - these and those - from the gift of your Lord"

13220 - From al-Dahhak, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "To all, We extend - these and those - from the gift of your Lord," he said: "Meaning that Allah has divided the world between the righteous and the wicked, while the Hereafter is specifically for the righteous, with your Lord."

His saying, the Almighty: "To all, We extend"

13221 - From al-Hasan, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "To all, We extend" the verse: He said: "We provide for everyone in the world, the righteous and the wicked."

13222 - From al-Suddi, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "To all, We extend - these and those" he says: "We extend the disbelievers and the believers 'from the gift of your Lord' meaning from the provision."

13223 - From Ibn Zayd, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "To all, We extend - these and those" he said: "These are the people of the world, and those are the people of the Hereafter. 'And never has the gift of your Lord been restricted,'" he said: "Prevented."
