الترجمة · EN

13069 - From al-Hasan, he said: "Jesus and John met. John said to Jesus: 'Ask forgiveness for me, for you are better than me.' Jesus said to him: 'Rather, you are better than me; Allah sent peace upon you, while I sent peace upon myself.' By Allah, he acknowledged his superiority."

His saying: "[In] a place eastward."

13070 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "[When she] withdrew from her family to a place eastward," he said: "Toward the east, remote and set apart."

13071 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "[When she] withdrew from her family to a place eastward," he said: "A place where the sun would shade her, and no one among them would see her."

13072 - From Ibn Abbas, he said: "The Christians only took the East as a direction of prayer because Mary withdrew from her family to a place eastward, so they took the place of his birth as a Qiblah. The Jews only prostrated at an angle when the mountain was raised above them; they began to fear while looking up at it, fearing that it would fall upon them, so they prostrated a prostration that Allah was pleased with, and they adopted it as a tradition."

13073 - From Ibn Abbas, he said: "The People of the Scripture were prescribed prayer toward the House and pilgrimage to it, and nothing diverted them from it except the word of your Lord: '[When she] withdrew from her family to a place eastward.'" He said: "She went out from them to an eastern place, so they prayed toward the rising of the sun."

13074 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, he said: "When she became pregnant, she gave birth."

From al-Kufi, from Mujahid, he said: "Mary, peace be upon her, said: 'When I was alone, Jesus would speak to me and talk to me while he was in my womb, and when I was with people, he would glorify and magnify Allah in my womb.'"

His saying: "And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen."

13075 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, that he said to Umar ibn al-Khattab: "Why do the Christians like curtains on their altars?" He replied: "The Christians only like curtains on their altars and places of worship because of the saying of Allah, the Sublime and Exalted: 'And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen.'"
