13076 - From Abu Salih, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "We sent to her Our spirit," he said: "Allah sent a messenger (angel) to her, so he blew into the opening of her garment, and it entered her private part."

13077 - From Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "We sent to her Our spirit," he said: "Gabriel."

13078 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "We sent to her Our spirit" the verse, he said: "Gabriel blew into the opening of her garment, and it reached where Allah willed."

13079 - From 'Ata' ibn Yasar: "Gabriel came to her in the form of a man and drew back the veil. When she saw him, she sought refuge from him. He blew into the opening of her garment and it reached [the destination]. This was mentioned in Medina, and Zachariah was forsaken and abandoned; he used to be consulted and people would come to him, [but it reached the point] where he would greet a man and he would not speak to him."

His saying: "And there appeared to her as a well-made man."

13080 - From Ubayy ibn Ka'b regarding His saying: "And there appeared to her as a well-made man," he said: "The spirit of Jesus appeared to her in the form of a human, so she conceived him." He said: "She conceived the one who addressed her; he entered through her mouth."

His saying: "She said, 'Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah.'"

13081 - From Abu Wa'il regarding His saying: "She said, 'Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah,'" he said: "Mary knew that the one who fears Allah is possessed of restraint."

His saying: "A pure boy."

13082 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "A pure boy," he said: "Righteous."

His saying: "And I have not been unchaste."

13083 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "And I have not been unchaste," he said: "An adulteress."
