Dhattab, 'Amudan, al-Faliq, al-Musabbih, al-Daruh, Dhu al-Fara', al-Diya', and al-Nur. He saw them prostrating to him on the horizon of the sky. When Joseph narrated this to Jacob, Jacob said: 'This is a scattered matter that God will gather later.' He said: 'Bustani says: Yes, by Allah, these are their names.'

His saying, the Almighty: "He said, 'O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan.'"

11333 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath narrated to us, [saying] al-Husayn ibn 'Ali ibn Mihran narrated to us, [saying] 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, [saying] Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, [who] said: The two boys, Joseph and Benjamin, were in the care of Jacob. He loved them both and felt affection for them because they were orphans of their mother, and Joseph was the most beloved of all creation to him. When they came towards the Levant, Jacob said to his shepherds and his servants: 'If someone comes to you asking: Who are you? Then say: We are the servants of 'Aysa belonging to Jacob.' 'Aysa met them and said: 'Who are you?'

They said: 'We are the servants of 'Aysa belonging to Jacob.' He said: 'So he refrained from Jacob.' That is when he [Jacob] said: 'And since you have overcome me regarding the invitation, do not overcome me regarding the grave.' Jacob descended to the Levant, and he had no concern but Joseph and his brother. His brothers envied him because of what they saw of his father's love for him. Joseph saw in a dream a vision that: 'Eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating to me.' He told his father about it, so Jacob said to him: 'O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan.' The vision reached the brothers of Joseph, so they envied him.

11334 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, [saying] 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, [saying] Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq: Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, says in His Book to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while He relates to him the story of Joseph and his brothers: "When Joseph said to his father, 'O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars'" (the verse). Jacob knew its interpretation, and he feared for him the injustice of his brothers, in what he knew of the interpretation: that the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars were his father, his mother, and his brothers. So he said: "O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan is, to mankind, a clear enemy."

11335 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, [saying] al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi informed us, [saying] Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Indeed Satan is, to mankind, a clear enemy," he said: "They treated him as an enemy, for it is incumbent upon every Muslim to treat him as an enemy, and his enmity is that you should treat him as an enemy through the obedience of Allah."
