His saying, the Exalted: "In the bag of his brother."
11792 - ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir narrated to us, Sa‘id informed us, Qatada narrated to us regarding His saying: "He placed the drinking vessel in the bag of his brother," he said: He was his brother through his father and mother.
11793 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Aruba narrated to us, from Qatada: "He placed the drinking vessel in the bag of his brother," [meaning] he placed the drinking vessel in the baggage of his brother.
11794 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq who said: Then it was placed—meaning the drinking vessel—in the bag of his brother Binyamin. Then he let them go until they departed and had gone far from the town; he ordered that they be caught, and they were made to sit down.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then a caller announced."
11795 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn narrated to us, ‘Amir narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi: He placed the drinking vessel in the bag of his brother while he was unaware of it. Rubil began to say: "We have never seen a man like this, if we indeed escape from him." When they departed, a caller announced before the caravan had left: "O you [people of the] caravan! You are surely thieves." So their backs were broken [with shock].
11796 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq who said: Then he let them go until, when they had departed and had gone far from the town, he ordered that they be caught, and they were made to sit down. Then a caller summoned them: "O you [people of the] caravan! You are surely thieves." So they stopped, and his messenger reached them, and said to them—in what they mention: "Did we not honor your hospitality, pay you your measure in full, treat your position well, and do for you what we have not done for others? And we admitted you to us in our homes and our dwellings." Or as he said to them. They replied: "Yes, and what is that?"
His saying: "O you [people of the] caravan! You are surely thieves."
11797 - My father narrated to us, Ibn Abi ‘Umar al-‘Adani narrated to us, Sufyan ibn ‘Uyayna narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid: "O you [people of the] caravan!" He said: They were [of the tribe of] Himyar.
His saying: "They said, and they turned towards them, 'What is it that you miss?'"
11798 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فِي رَحَلِ أَخِيهِ.
١١٧٩٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا أَبُو الْجُمَاهِرِ، أَنْبَأَ سَعِيدٌ ثنا قَتَادَةُ قَوْلُهُ:
جَعَلَ السِّقَايَةَ فِي رَحَلِ أَخِيهِ قَالَ: كَانَ أَخُوهُ لأَبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ.
١١٧٩٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: جَعَلَ السِّقَايَةَ فِي رَحَلِ أَخِيهِ جَعَلَ السِّقَايَةَ فِي مَتَاعِ أَخِيهِ.
١١٧٩٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: فجعلت يَعْنِي: السِّقَايَةَ فِي رَحْلِ أَخِيهِ بِنْيَامِينَ، ثُمَّ أَمْهَلَهُمْ حَتَّى انْطَلِقُوا فَأَمْعَنُوا عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ، أَمَرَ بِهِمْ فَادْرَكُوا فَأُجْلِسُوا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ثُمَّ أَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ
١١٧٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ ثنا عَامِرٌ عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ جَعَلَ السِّقَايَةَ فِي رَحَلِ أَخِيهِ وَهُوَ لَا يَشْعُرُ بِهَا، وَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ رُوبِيلُ: مَا رَأَيْنَا رَجُلا مِثْلَ هَذَا إِنْ نَحْنُ نَجَوْنَا مِنْهُ، فلما ارتحلوا أَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَرْتَحِلَ الْعِيرُ أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لسارقون فَانْقَطَعَتْ ظُهُورُهُمْ.
١١٧٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَمْهَلَهُمْ حَتَّى إِذَا انْطَلَقُوا، فَأَمْعَنُوا عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ، أَمَرَ بِهِمْ فَأُجْلِسُوا، ثُمَّ نَادَاهُمْ مُنَادٍ: أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَسَارِقُونَ فَوَقَفُوا، وَانْتَهَى إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ فِيمَا يَذْكُرُونَ: أَلَمْ نُكْرِمْ ضيافتكم ونوفيكم كَيْلَكُمْ، وَنُحْسِنْ مَنْزِلَتَكُمْ، ونَفْعَلْ بِكُمْ مَا لَمْ نَفْعَلْ بِغَيْرِكُمْ، وَأَدْخَلْنَاكُمْ عَلَيْنَا فِي بُيُوتِنَا وَمَنَازِلِنَا؟ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ لَهُمْ، قَالُوا بَلَى، وَمَا ذَاكَ؟
قَوْلُهُ: أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَسَارِقُونَ
١١٧٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ: أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ قَالَ: كَانَتْ حَمْيَرًا.
قَوْلُهُ: قَالُوا وَأَقْبَلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ مَاذَا تَفْقِدُونَ
