الترجمة · EN

His saying, the Almighty: "Fahuwa kazim (And he was suppressing his sorrow)."

11887 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Shibl, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid [1] regarding "fahuwa kazim": He said, "Kazim al-huzn (suppressing the grief)." It was narrated from al-Suddi something similar.

11888 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn ‘Ubayd Allah and ‘Abdah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, they said: Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ma‘mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding "wa abyaddat ‘aynahu min al-huzni fahuwa kazim": He said, "He suppressed his grief and did not say anything but good."

11889 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Qasim ibn ‘Isa al-Ta’i al-Wasiti narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, who said: "Al-kazim is the one who is distressed (al-kamid)."

11890 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu al-Jumahir narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir informed us, Qatadah narrated to us, regarding "fahuwa kazim": That is, he remained silent, suppressing his grief and repeating it within himself.

His saying, the Almighty: "They said, 'By Allah, you will not cease remembering Yusuf.'"

11891 - My father narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Raja’ ibn ‘Abd Allah narrated to us, Isra’il informed us, from Simak, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding his saying: "tafta’u tadhkuru Yusuf": He said, "You will never cease remembering Yusuf."

11892 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid [2] regarding His saying: "tafta’u tadhkuru Yusuf": "You will not cease (tafta’u) from loving him; you will not cease remembering Yusuf."

11893 - ‘Abd Allah narrated to us, al-Husayn narrated to us, ‘Amir narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi: His sons said to him, "By Allah, you will not cease (tafta’u) remembering Yusuf until you become haradan (wasted away)..." Regarding "tafta’u": It means "you will not cease."

His saying, the Almighty: "Until you become haradan (wasted away) or are of the perishing ones."

11894 - Muhammad ibn Isma‘il al-Ahmasi narrated to us, Abu Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us, ‘Uthman narrated to us, from ‘Utbah (meaning ibn al-Yaqzan), from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding "hatta takuna haradan": He said, "Wasted away (danifan) from illness."

Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid regarding His saying "haradan": He said, "Al-harad is that which is short of death."
