'Ata', from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Indeed, those who like," meaning: the slander of 'Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her.

14243 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi reported to me in what he wrote to me, [saying]: Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, [who] said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd regarding the saying of Allah: "Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread," [he said]: It is the wicked 'Abd Allah ibn Ubayy the hypocrite, who spread about 'Aisha the slander that he spread about her.

14244 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim al-Dimashqi narrated to us, [saying]: al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Thawr, from Khalid ibn Ma'dan, [who] said: Whoever narrates what his eyes have seen and his ears have heard, he is among those who like that immorality should be spread among those who believe.

His saying: "that immorality should be spread."

14245 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, [saying]: Shababah narrated to us, [saying]: Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, [regarding] His saying: "immorality should be spread"—[meaning] it appears, and is talked about, regarding the affair of 'Aisha.

14246 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [saying]: 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "that immorality should be spread," meaning: that it spreads and becomes manifest; and "immorality" is adultery; "among those who believe," meaning: Safwan and 'Aisha.

14247 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Uthman narrated to us, [saying]: Baqiyyah narrated to us, from 'Umar ibn Khuth'am, from 'Uthman ibn Ma'dan, from 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Zakariyya, [who] said: A man asked him about this verse: "Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread among those who believe," [and he] said: It is the man who desires that regarding his brother or someone else, so he does not condemn it. Yahya said: It is as if he is slandering him.

14248 - 'Ali ibn Sahl al-Ramli reported to me in what he wrote to me, [saying]: Hajjaj ibn Muhammad al-A'war narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata', [who] said: Whoever spreads immorality, upon him is the exemplary punishment, even if he is truthful.

His saying, the Almighty: "they will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter."

14249 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Bukayr narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [saying]: 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, [regarding] His saying: "in this world and the Hereafter," [he said]: So the punishment of 'Abd Allah ibn Ubayy in this world was the prescribed punishment (hadd), and in the Hereafter it is the punishment of the Fire.
