[His saying, the Exalted: "And give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you."]
[The first view]
14502 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, [saying]: al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, [saying]: Yazid ibn Zuray' reported, [saying]: Sa'id reported from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you," he says: Give them from the wealth of Allah.
14503 - Ahmad ibn Mansur al-Ramadi narrated to us, [saying]: Yazid ibn Hubab reported, [saying]: al-Husayn ibn Waqid reported, [saying]: 'Abd Allah ibn Buraydah narrated to me, from his father, regarding His saying: "And give them from the wealth of Allah," he [the Prophet] urged people to do so.
14504 - Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Ahmas narrated to us, [saying]: Waki' reported, from Sufyan, from Mughirah, from Ibrahim, regarding his saying: "And give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you," he said: He urged people to do so, [as] a matter of benevolence. Similar [reports] were narrated from others.

14505 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, [saying]: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported, [saying]: 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, [saying]: 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, who said: Ibn 'Abbas said regarding His saying: "And give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you": Allah commanded the believers to assist [in freeing] the necks [i.e., slaves].
14506 - And 'Ali ibn Abi Talib said: Allah commanded the master to leave for the mukatab [slave under a contract of manumission] a fourth of its [the contract's] price, and this is a teaching from Allah, not an obligation, but there is a reward in it.
The third view:
14507 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, [saying]: Ibn Wahb informed us, [saying]: And 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to me, from his father, regarding the saying of Allah: "And give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you," he said: This is regarding Zakat; the authorities give them [some of the slaves] from the Zakat, as Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: "And [for] the necks [i.e., freeing slaves]."
His saying: "From the wealth of Allah which He has given you."

١٤٥٠٢ - حدثنا محمد بن يحي، أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَآتُوهُمْ مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي آتَاكُمْ يَقُولُ أَعْطُوهُمْ مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ.
١٤٥٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَآتُوهُمْ مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ حَثَّ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهِ.
١٤٥٠٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الأَحْمَسُ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَوْلُهُ: وَآتُوهُمْ مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي آتاكم قال: حث الناس عليه مولاة غيره، وروى عن الناس نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
١٤٥٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يحى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَآتُوهُمْ مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي آتَاكُمْ أَمَرَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْ يُعِينُوا فِي الرِّقَابِ.
١٤٥٠٦ - وَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ: أَمَرَ اللَّهُ السَّيِّدَ أَنْ يَدَعَ لِلْمُكَاتَبِ الرُّبُعَ مِنْ ثَمَنِهِ، وَهَذَا تَعْلِيمٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ لَيْسَ بِفَرِيضَةٍ وَلَكِنْ فِيهِ أَجْرٌ «١» .
وَالوجه الثَّالِثُ:
١٤٥٠٧ - قُرِئَ عَلَى يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: وَآتُوهُمْ مِنْ مال الله الَّذِي آتَاكُمْ قَالَ: ذَلِكَ فِي الزَّكَاةِ عَلَى الْوُلاةِ يُعْطُونَهُمْ مِنَ الزَّكَاةِ، يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:
وَفِي الرِّقَابِ.
قوله: مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ الذي آتاكم.
