His saying: "And he found Allah at it."
14681 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, [saying]: Shababah reported to us, [saying]: Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And he found Allah at it," he said: He found Allah at his departure from the world, so He pays him his account in full.
His saying: "So He paid him his account in full."
14682 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: 'Amr ibn Nafi' reported to us, [saying]: Sulayman ibn 'Amir informed us, [saying]: I heard al-Rabi' ibn Anas regarding His saying: "Until, when he came to it, he found it to be nothing. And he found Allah at it, so He paid him his account in full," [meaning] when he saw the mirage and thought it was water, he reached it, but thirst destroyed him, and he did not find water. His soul was cut off and he departed the world; then Allah paid him his account in full, and he did not find any good at all with Allah.
14683 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, [saying]: al-Husayn ibn 'Ali ibn Mihran reported to us, [saying]: 'Amir ibn al-Furat reported to us, [saying]: Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, regarding "And he found Allah at it, so He paid him his account in full," he said: The disbelievers will be resurrected while their necks have been severed from thirst. A mirage will be raised for them in a lowland of the earth, and when they look at it, they will think it is water. They will go to it to drink from it, but will find nothing, and they will be seized, then they will be brought to account.
His saying, the Exalted: "And Allah is swift in account."
14684 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Hudhayfah reported to us, [saying]: Shibl reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid(1): "Swift in account," [meaning] He has enumerated it.
His saying: "Or like darknesses."
14685 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed us in what he wrote to me, [saying]: My father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Or like darknesses," he means by the darkness, the deeds. Regarding His saying: "In a deep sea," he said: The deep sea is the heart of the human being.
His saying: "Deep."
14686 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tehrani informed us in what he wrote to me, [saying]: 'Abd al-Razzaq(2) informed us, [saying]: Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding "In a deep sea," he said: In a deep sea; and this is a parable that Allah has set forth for the disbeliever, that he works in darkness and confusion. He said: "Darknesses, one above another."
