and the Almighty and Majestic: "There is no blame upon you that you eat from your houses or the houses of your fathers," up to His saying: "or what you possess the keys of."
14876 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah reported to us, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "or what you possess the keys of," meaning its treasuries, and it is a man's slave.
14877 - It was mentioned from Bishr ibn 'Umar, al-Husayn ibn Abi Ja'far reported to us, from Abu al-Sahba', from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding "or what you possess the keys of," he said: A steward.
14878 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-Aziz ibn Munib reported to us, Abu Mu'adh reported to us, from 'Ubayd ibn Sulayman, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "or what you possess the keys of," meaning the house of one of them, for he owns it, and the slaves among them are from what they possess. Then Allah revealed: "There is no blame upon you in eating with the sick, the blind, and the lame, and there is no blame upon you that you eat together or separately."
14879 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "or what you possess the keys of," from what you store, O son of Adam.
14880 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali reported to us, 'Amir reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "or what you possess the keys of," he said: A man who is entrusted by another man with his food, to manage it for him and safeguard it for him; so there is no harm in him eating from it.
14881 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazyad al-Bayruti informed us by way of recitation, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shabur informed me, 'Uthman ibn 'Ata' informed me, from his father, regarding His saying: "or what you possess the keys of," or "your friend," or what He mentioned of relatives and friends. A wealthy man would enter upon his poor relative or friend, and he would invite him to food so he could eat from it, and he would say: "By Allah, I am hesitant." The "janh" (blame/hesitation) is to feel constrained to eat from you while I am wealthy and you are poor. So they were commanded to eat together or separately.
14882 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "or your friend," meaning: in the houses of your friends.
14883 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Muqaddami reported to us, Zakariyya' ibn Zurarah reported to us, my father narrated to me, saying: I asked Abu Ja'far about His saying: "There is no blame upon you that you eat from your houses..." up to His saying: "or your friend." He said: He eats, drinks, and gives in charity—meaning from the food.
وجل ليس عليكم جناح أَنْ تَأْكُلُوا مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ آبَائِكُمْ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ
١٤٨٧٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلُهُ: أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ يَعْنِى خَزَائِنَهُ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّجُلِ.
١٤٨٧٧ - ذُكِرَ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الصَّهْبَاءِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ قَالَ: قَهْرَمَانُ.
١٤٨٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُنِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاذٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ قَوْلُهُ: أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ يَعْنِى بَيْتَ أَحَدِهُمْ، فَإِنَّهُ يَمْلِكُهُ وَالْعَبِيدَ مِنْهُمْ مِمَّا مَلَكُوا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ فِي مُؤَاكَلَةِ الْمَرِيضِ وَالأَعْمَى وَالأَعْرَجِ، وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَجٌ أَنْ تَأْكُلُوا جَمِيعًا أَوْ أَشْتَاتًا.
١٤٨٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قوله: أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ مِمَّا تَخْتَزِنُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ.
١٤٨٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرٌ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ قَالَ: الرَّجُلُ يُوَلِّيَهُ رَجُلٌ طَعَامَهُ يَقُومُ عَلَيْهِ وَيَحْفَظُ لَهُ فَلا بَأْسَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهُ.
١٤٨٨١ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مَزْيَدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ قِرَاءَةً، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ شَابُورَ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَوْلَهُ: أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ أَوْ صَدِيقِكُمْ أَوْ مَا ذَكَرَ مِنْ ذَوِي الْقَرَابَةِ وَالصَّدِيقِ، فَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ الْغَنِيُّ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى الْفَقِيرِ مِنْ ذَوِي قَرَابَتِهِ وَصَدِيقِهِ يَدْعُوهُ إِلَى الطَّعَامِ لِيَأْكُلَ منه فيقول: والله إني لا جنح وَالْجَنْحُ أَنْ يُحَرَّجَ أَنْ نَأْكُلَ مِنْكَ وَأَنَا غَنِيٌّ وَأَنْتَ فَقِيرٌ، فَأُمِرُوا أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا جَمِيعًا أَوْ أَشْتَاتًا.
١٤٨٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ صَدِيقِكُمْ يَعْنِى: فِي بُيُوتِ أَصْدِقَائِكُمْ.
