His saying, the Almighty: "It is recited to him morning and evening."

14978 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahim al-Ruzayqi reported to us, Ibn al-Mubarak reported to us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, Abu al-'Aliyah reported to me regarding His saying: "Morning," he said: The dawn prayer (Fajr), and His saying: "And evening," he said: The afternoon prayer ('Asr).

His saying, the Almighty: "Say, 'It has been revealed by He who knows the secret within the heavens and the earth.'"

14979 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah reported to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar reported to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, who said: Ibn 'Abbas said: Allah created the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz) the distance of a hundred years' travel. Then He said to the Pen before He created the creation, while He was upon the Throne, Blessed and Exalted: "Write." The Pen said: "What shall I write?" He said: "My knowledge of My creation until the Day the Hour arises." So the Pen wrote what was to be in the knowledge of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. That is why He says to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: "He knows what is in the heaven and the earth."

14980 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih reported to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih reported to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "He knows the secret," he said: The secret is what the son of Adam conceals within himself.

14981 - Abu Sa'id ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, Abu 'Amir al-'Aqadi reported to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim, he said: The secret is what you speak to yourself about.

14982 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by reading, Ibn Wahb reported to us, Hafs ibn Maysarah informed us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, regarding the saying of Allah: "He knows the secret," he said: He knows the secrets of the servant. Its interpretation has been mentioned more than once.

His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, He is ever Forgiving, Merciful."

14983 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah reported to me, 'Ata' reported to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "Forgiving," meaning: for what was from them during [their state of] polytheism; "Merciful," towards them in Islam.

His saying, the Almighty: "And they said, 'What is this messenger that he eats food and walks in the marketplaces?'"

14984 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And they said, 'What is this messenger that he eats food and walks in the marketplaces?'" The disbelievers wondered at that, that there should be a messenger who eats food and walks in the marketplaces.
