The Fourth Aspect

15636 - It was mentioned from Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham, from Sufyan, from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Rufay', from Abu Thumamah who said: The sorcerers of Pharaoh were seventeen thousand.

The Fifth Aspect

15637 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi who said: The sorcerers were thirty-something thousand men.

15638 - And with it, regarding His saying: "prostrate," he said: Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, inspired Moses to cast what was in his right hand. He cast his staff, and it consumed every snake they had. When they saw that, they prostrated.

15639 - It was mentioned from Sa'id ibn Salam, Isma'il ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman reported to us, from Salim al-Aftas, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding "and the sorcerers fell down prostrate," he said: They saw their dwellings being built for them while they were in their prostration.

His saying, the Almighty: "They said, 'We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of Moses and Aaron.'"

15640 - 'Ammar ibn Khalid al-Wasiti, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, and Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Asbagh ibn Zayd, from al-Qasim, Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated to me, from Ibn 'Abbas who said: When the sorcerers recognized that, they said: "If this were sorcery, it would not have attained all of this from our sorcery, but this is a matter from Allah. We have believed in Allah and in what Moses brought, and we repent to Allah from what we were upon."

15641 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' reported to us, Sa'id reported to us, from Qatadah who said: It was mentioned to us that the sorcerers said when they gathered: "If what Moses brought is sorcery, we will never be overcome, and if it is from Allah, it will not be hidden from us." When he threw his staff and it swallowed up what they had falsely invented of their sorcery, and what they brought of their ropes and staffs, they knew it was from Allah, and at that, the sorcerers fell down prostrate, saying: "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of Moses and Aaron."

15642 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who said: Among the heads of the sorcerers whom Pharaoh gathered against Moses, as it reached me, were Sabur, 'Azhur, Hashat, and Musaffa. These four were the ones who believed when they saw what they saw of Allah's authority, and all the sorcerers believed along with them.
