- Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Zurayq narrated to us, from 'Ata' al-Khurasani, from 'Ikrimah regarding "she thought it was a body of water," he said: A sea.

His saying, the Exalted: "She uncovered her legs"

- Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Suwayd ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Minhal, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas regarding "she uncovered her legs," and behold, there was hair on them. At that moment, he ordered the manufacture of hair-removing paste (nawrah), and it was made. Then it was said to her: "It is a palace paved with glass." She said: "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allah, Lord of the worlds."

- Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-Muqaddami narrated to us, Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Rabi'ah ibn Kulthum narrated to us, who said: My father narrated to me from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: "Solomon, peace be upon him, when he wanted to go out in his morning and evening journeys, would ride whichever of his horses he loved, then say: 'Bring us such and such wind, by the permission of Allah, to carry us to such and such land.' It would come in a whirlwind until it surrounded them, and they would push their horses into it and arrive at the land he desired, while its borders and sanctuaries had disappeared, and its bridles were in the foam. The Queen of Sheba, when she came to the palace, looked at the fish. She uncovered her legs, thinking it was a body of water. Then it was said to her: 'It is a palace paved with glass.' Rabi'ah said: I heard al-Hasan say: When she arrived at the palace, she knew, by Allah, that she had seen a kingdom greater than her own."

- 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding "she uncovered her legs," so he looked at her legs and there was much hair on them, so she fell from his view and he disliked her. The devils said to him: 'We will make for you something that will remove it.' So they made for him a hair-removing paste from seashells and applied it, and the hair vanished, and Solomon, peace be upon him, married her.

- Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah al-Harawi narrated to us, Hajjaj informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Mujahid: "Bilqis was hairy and shaggy, her foot was the hoof of a donkey, and the female jinn had a long tail." Ibn Jurayj said: "It is said that she was the most beautiful of people in leg and foot, except for the hair on her leg. That was when he ordered the jinn, and they devised a plan and prepared the hair-removing paste for him; that was the first time it was made."

- Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us...
