from 'Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Salih, who said: Tawus entered upon me to visit me when I was sick, so I said to him: Supplicate to Allah for me, O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman. He said: Supplicate for yourself, for He answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him.

16520 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani informed us in what he wrote to me, Ismail ibn 'Abd al-Karim reported, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil informed me that he heard his uncle, Wahb ibn Munabbih, saying: I read in another book that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says: By My might, whoever takes refuge in Me, even if the heavens and all who are in them, and the earth and all who are in it, plot against him, I will surely make for him a way out from that. And whoever does not take refuge in Me, I will cause the earth to swallow him from beneath his feet, and I will place him in the air, then I will leave him to himself.
His saying, the Exalted: "And makes you successors of the earth"
16521 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas reported, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah: "And makes you successors of the earth," meaning: one generation after another.
16522 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And makes you successors of the earth," he said: Successors to those who were before them among the nations.
His saying, the Exalted: "Is there a god with Allah?"

His saying, the Exalted: "Or who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea"
16524 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Bukayr al-Nakha'i narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak regarding "in the land and the sea," he said: The land is the wilderness of the Bedouins, and the sea is the cities and the villages.
His saying, the Exalted: "And who sends the winds"
16525 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "sends the winds," he said: Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, sends the winds.
