His saying, the Exalted: "We will return him to you."
16689 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Abi al-Thalj narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: Asbagh ibn Zayd al-Warraq narrated to us: al-Qasim ibn Abi Ayyub narrated to us: Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated to us, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Then Allah inspired to her: 'Do not fear and do not grieve: We will return him to you, and will make him one of the messengers.'" When she gave birth, she did that to him. Then, when her son was hidden from her, the Devil came to her, and she said to herself: "What have I done with my son? Had he been slaughtered in my presence, so I could have buried him and shrouded him, it would have been more beloved to me than to cast him with my own hands to the beasts of the sea and its fish." The water carried him until it brought him to rest at the landing place for the water-drawers of Pharaoh's wife. When they saw him, they took him, and they rushed to open the chest. Some of them said: "There is wealth in this, and if we open it, the King's wife will not believe us regarding what we found in it." So they carried him as he was, without moving anything of him, until they brought him up to her. When she opened it, she saw a boy in it, and a love was cast upon her for him, such that had never been cast by her for any human being ever.
His saying, the Exalted: "And make him one of the messengers."
16690 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us: Muhammad ibn 'Isa narrated to us: Salamah narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "We will return him to you and will send him as a messenger to this tyrant, and make his destruction and the salvation of the Children of Israel from the affliction they are in, at his hands."
His saying, the Exalted: "Then the family of Pharaoh picked him up."
16691 - My father narrated to us: Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us: Ibn Wahb informed me: Hayy ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to me, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, who said: Pharaoh's wife went out to the sea, and a daughter of Pharaoh who was afflicted with leprosy was with her. They saw a black object in the sea, so the chest was brought to them. The daughter of Pharaoh's wife, who was leprous, rushed to the chest and opened it. She found Moses in the chest, as a newborn, and she took him, and she was cured of her leprosy.
His saying, the Exalted: "That he might be for them an enemy and a cause of grief."
16692 - My father narrated to us: Ahmad ibn al-Miqdam narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Bakr ibn 'Uthman al-Bursani narrated to us: Sulaym ibn Nufay' al-Qurashi narrated to us, from Khalaf Abu al-Fadl al-Qurashi, from the letter of 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz to the group who wrote to me concerning what they had no right to regarding the rejection of the Book of Allah and their denial of
