16838 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from 'Abd Allah, who said: The most physiognomically perceptive people are three: Abu Bakr when he perceived it in 'Umar, the companion of Yusuf when he said: "Make his residence comfortable," and the companion of Moses when she said: "O my father, hire him; indeed, the best of those you can hire is the strong, the trustworthy."

16839 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us: Ibrahim ibn Musa narrated to us: Ibn Abi Za'idah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu 'Ubaydah, who said: The companion of Moses—meaning the one who hired Moses—was Yathrun, the nephew of Shu'ayb. Abu Zur'ah said: The correct [name] is Yathrun, and among them are those who say: It was Shu'ayb.

16840 - My father narrated to us: 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Uwaysi narrated to us: Malik ibn Anas narrated to us, that it reached him that Shu'ayb is the one to whom Moses related the stories, and he said: "Do not fear."

16841 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Qurrah ibn Khalid, who said: I heard al-Hasan saying: They say [it was] Shu'ayb, yet it was not Shu'ayb, but rather he was the master of the water on that day.

His saying: "Indeed, the best of those you can hire is the strong, the trustworthy."

16842 - Muhammad ibn Dawud al-Simnani narrated to us: Abu Hammam al-Walid ibn Shuja' ibn Badr narrated to us: 'Uwayd ibn 'Abd al-Malik ibn Habib al-Jawni narrated to us, from his father, from 'Abd Allah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: O Abu Dharr, if you are asked which of the two women Moses—peace be upon him—married, say: The younger of the two. She is the one who came to him and called him; she is the one who said: "O my father, hire him; indeed, the best of those you can hire is the strong, the trustworthy." Her father said to her: Inform me of his strength. She said: He took a heavy rock and cast it [aside].

16843 - My father narrated to us: Abu Nu'aym narrated to us: Isra'il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Amr ibn Maymun, who said: 'Umar said, regarding His saying: "O my father, hire him; indeed, the best of those you can hire is the strong, the trustworthy": He said: O my daughter, what is your knowledge of his trustworthiness and his strength? She said: As for his strength, it is his lifting of the rock, which only ten could lift.
