The fourth view:

16960 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us: Abu Salamah narrated to us, he said: Isma'il—meaning Ibn Abi Khalid—said: I heard Abu Razin reciting it as "Two magicians" (sihran), [and] he said: "Two books, the Torah and the Gospel."

16961 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd ibn 'Atiyyah informed us in what he wrote to me: My father narrated to me: My uncle narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, [regarding] His saying: "And they said: 'We are disbelievers in all of it,'" he said: They are the People of the Scripture.

His saying, Exalted is He: "We are disbelievers in all of it"

16962 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us: Abu 'Abd al-Rahman—meaning al-Harithi—narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak: "And they said: 'We are disbelievers in all of it'"—he says: We are disbelievers in the Torah and the Quran.

16963 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me: Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd narrated to us regarding the saying of Allah: "And they said: 'We are disbelievers in all of it'"—[meaning] that which Musa brought, and that which Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them both, brought.

16964 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us: Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, [regarding] His saying: "We are disbelievers in all of it"—we also disbelieve in that which was given to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

His saying, Exalted is He: "Say: 'Then bring a scripture from before Allah that is more guiding than both of them, [so] I will follow it,'" the verse.

16964 [repeated] - My father narrated to us: al-Mu'alla ibn Asad al-'Ammi narrated to us, al-Mu'alla ibn 'Isa narrated to us, from 'Asim al-Jahdari, that he used to recite: "Two magicians" (sihran), [and] he said: "Two books, the Torah and the Furqan." Do you not see that He says: "A scripture from before Allah that is more guiding than both of them"?

16965 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us: al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us: Yazid narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, [regarding] His saying: "And they said: 'We are disbelievers in all of it'"—Allah says: "Then bring a scripture from before Allah that is more guiding than both of them, [so] I will follow it, if you are truthful."

16966 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me: Asbagh informed us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd narrated to us, [he said]: Allah answered them: "Say: 'Then bring a scripture from before Allah that is more guiding than both of them, [so] I will follow it'"—meaning
