His saying, the Exalted: "And We have enjoined upon man..." to His saying: "...so do not obey them."
17164 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud reported to us, Shu‘bah reported to us, Simak ibn Harb informed me, he said: I heard Mus‘ab ibn Sa‘id narrating from Sa‘d, who said: Umm Sa‘d said: "Has Allah not commanded the obedience of parents? I will not eat food nor drink a drink until you disbelieve in Allah." So she refrained from food and drink until they had to pry her mouth open with a stick. Then this verse was revealed: "And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them."
17165 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid reported to us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ reported to us, he said: I heard Sa‘id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them..." the verse, he said: It was revealed concerning Sa‘d ibn Malik. When he migrated, his mother said: "By Allah, no shade shall shade me until he returns." So Allah revealed concerning that [the instruction] to treat her well, but not to obey them in polytheism.
His saying, the Exalted: "To Me is your return,"
17166 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Zayd ibn Hubab reported to us, from Abu Sinan, from al-Dahhak, regarding His saying: "To Me is your return," he said: The righteous and the wicked.
His saying, the Exalted: "...then I will inform you of what you used to do."
17167 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Dashtaki reported to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja‘far informed us, from his father, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, he said: Allah will resurrect them after death, then He will resurrect His allies and His enemies, and He will inform them of what they did for them.
17168 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Shaqiq reported to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, Bukayr ibn Ma‘ruf reported to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, he said: He will inform them on the Day of Resurrection of everything they spoke, whether it was evil or good.
His saying: "And those who believe and do righteous deeds,"

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَوَصَّيْنَا الإِنْسَانَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: فَلا تطعهما
١٧١٦٤ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُصْعَبَ بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَعْدٍ: أَلَيْسَ قَدْ أَمَرَ الله بطاعة الوالدين؟ فَلا آكُلُ طَعَامًا وَلا أَشْرَبُ شَرَابًا حَتَّى تَكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ، فَامْتَنَعَتْ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ حَتَّى جَعَلُوا يَشْجُرُونَ «١» فَاهَا بِالْعَصَا، فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلا تُطِعْهُمَا
١٧١٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدًا، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَوَصَّيْنَا الإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لك به علم فلا تطعهما ... الْآيَةَ قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ فِي سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ لَمَّا هَاجَرَ قَالَتْ أُمُّهُ: وَاللَّهُ لَا يُظِلُّنِي ظِلٌّ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ. فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِي ذَلِكَ أَنْ يُحْسِنَ إِلَيْهَا، وَلا يُطِعْهُمَا فِي الشِّرْكِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ
١٧١٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ قَالَ: الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَأُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
١٧١٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّشْتَكِيُّ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ الْمَوْتِ فَيَبْعَثُ أَوْلِيَاءَهُ وَأَعْدَاءَهُ، فَينُبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوا لَهُمْ.
١٧١٦٨ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بن علي بن الحسين ابن شَقِيقٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَالَ:
يُنَبِّئُهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِكُلِّ شيْءٍ نَطَقُوا بِهِ سَيِّئَةً أَوْ حَسَنَةً.
قَوْلُهُ: وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصالحات
