palaces; in every palace there are seventy thousand houses; in every house there are seventy thousand rooms; in every room there are seventy thousand vaults; in every vault there are seventy thousand snakes; in every snake there are seventy thousand scorpions.

17448 - My father narrated to us: Ibn Abi al-Hawwari narrated to us: al-Tayyib Abu al-Hasan narrated to us, from al-Husayn ibn Yahya al-Khushani, [who said]: There is not a house, nor a vault, nor a shackle, nor a restraint, nor a chain in Hell except that a name is written upon it. He said: So he narrated this to Abu Sulayman, and he wept, then he said to me: "And how would it be for him if all of this were gathered upon him, so that the restraint is placed upon his leg, the shackle upon his hands, and the chain upon his neck, then he is admitted [and] admitted into the vault?"

His saying, the Almighty: "And those who strive for Us"

17449 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me: Asbagh narrated to us, saying: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah, "And those who strive for Us"—it was said to him: "[Those who] fight for Us?" He said: "Yes."

17450 - My father narrated to us: Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us: 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' regarding His saying, "And those who strive for Us, We will surely guide them to Our ways," he said: "There is not a servant on earth who obeys his Lord, calls to Him, and forbids what He has forbidden, but that he has striven for the sake of Allah."

His saying, the Almighty: "We will surely guide them to Our ways"

17451 - My father narrated to us: Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hawwari narrated to us: 'Abbas al-Hamadhani narrated to us: Abu Ahmad, from the people of 'Akka, [narrated] regarding the saying of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, "We will surely guide them to Our ways"... until His saying: "And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good," he said: "Those who act upon what they know, He will guide them to what they do not know." Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hawwari said: I narrated this to Abu Sulayman al-Darani, and he was pleased by it and said: "It is not appropriate for someone who has been inspired with something of good to act upon it until he hears it in the Tradition (Athar). Once he hears it in the Tradition, he acts upon it and praises Allah when it aligns with what was in his own soul."

17452 - My father narrated to us: Ya'qub ibn Ishaq al-Baghdadi narrated to us: Hammad narrated to us, saying: I heard him say: Ibn 'Uyaynah said to me... they differed concerning it... and the people of the frontier garrisons (Thughur), for Allah says: "And those who strive for Us, We will surely guide them to Our ways."
