17478 - From Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "They will be honored," he said: They will be given delight.

His saying, the Exalted: "So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening"

17479 - From Mu'adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with the Messenger of Allah) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Shall I tell you why Allah named Ibrahim His friend (Khalil) who fulfilled his duty? Because he used to say, whenever he entered the morning and the evening: 'So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning. And to Him is all praise in the heavens and the earth, and at night, and when you are at midday.'"

17480 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) he said: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "As for 'al-hamd' (praise), we have known it, for the creatures praise one another. And as for 'la ilaha illa Allah', we have known it, for deities have been worshipped besides Allah. And as for 'Allah-u-Akbar', the one who prays might say it. But what is 'Subhan Allah'?" A man from the people said: "Allah knows best!" Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Umar would be miserable if he did not know that Allah knows." Then Ali said: "O Commander of the Faithful, it is a word that no one among the creatures can claim for himself, and it is to Him that the creation turns in appeal. He loves that it be said to Him." He (Umar) said: "It is as you said."
