He said: Abu Sufyan and his companions "did not obtain any good." He said: They did not achieve any victory over Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his companions. "And Allah sufficed the believers in the fighting," for they were defeated by the wind without any fighting (1).
[The saying of the Exalted: And Allah sufficed the believers in the fighting]
17648 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding his saying: "And Allah sufficed the believers in the fighting," he said: With soldiers from Him and the wind which He sent against them, and Allah was powerful in His command and mighty in His retribution (2).
17649 - From Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to recite this letter: "And Allah sufficed the believers in the fighting" with Ali ibn Abi Talib.
The saying of the Exalted: "And land you have not trodden."
17650 - From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding his saying: "And land you have not trodden," he said: We used to be told that it was Mecca. Al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is the land of Rome and Persia and what was opened up for them (3).
17651 - From Ikrima regarding his saying: "And land you have not trodden," he said: They claim it is Khaybar, but I do not consider it to be anything other than every land that Allah has opened up for the Muslims, or that He will open up until the Day of Resurrection (4).
The saying of the Exalted: "O Prophet, say to your wives, 'If you desire the worldly life and its adornment...'" the verse.
17652 - From Muhammad ibn Amr, from Abu Salamah, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) who said: When the verse of choosing (al-takhayyur) was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) began with me. He said: "O Aisha, I am presenting a matter to you, so do not rush into anything until you consult your parents, Abu Bakr and Umm Ruman." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is it?" He said: "Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, said: 'O Prophet, say to your wives, "If you desire the worldly life and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and give you a graceful release. But if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the Home of the Hereafter, then indeed, Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a great reward.""

قال: أبو سفيان وأصحابه لَمْ يَنَالُوا خَيْرًا قال: لم يصيبوا من محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وأصحابه ظفرًا وَكَفَى اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ القتال انهزموا بالريح من غير قتال «١» .
[قوله تعالى: وكفى الله المؤمنين القتال]
١٧٦٤٨ - عَنْ قَتَادَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وكفى الله المؤمنين القتال قال:
بالجنود من عنده، والريح التي بعث عليهم وكان الله قويا في أمره عزيزا في نقمته «٢» .
١٧٦٤٩ - عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ كان يقرأ هذا الحرف وَكَفَى الله المؤمنين القتال بعلي بن أبي طالب.
قوله تعالى: وَأَرْضًا لم تطؤها
١٧٦٥٠ - عَنْ قَتَادَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وأرضا لم تطؤها قال: كنا نحدث أنها مكة، وقال الحسن رضي الله عنه: هي أرض الروم وفارس، وما فتح عليهم «٣» .
١٧٦٥١ - عن عكرمة في قوله: وأرضا لم تطؤها قال: يزعمون أنها خيبر، ولا أحسبها إلا كل أرض فتحها الله على المسلمين، أو هو فاتحها إلى يوم القيامة «٤» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِكَ إِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدنيا وزينتها ... الآية
١٧٦٥٢ - عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت:
لما نزلت آية التخير، بدأ بي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يا عائشة، إني عارض عليك أمرًا، فلا تفتاتي فيه بشيء حتى تعرضيه على أبويك أبي بكر وأم رومان، فقلت: يا رسول الله، وما هو؟ قال: قال الله عز وجل: يا أيها النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لأَزْوَاجِكَ إِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلا، وَإِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالدَّارَ الآخِرَةَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنَاتِ مِنْكُنَّ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
