[His saying, the Exalted: "Whether she will be guided"]

16416 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding Allah's saying: "Disguise for her her throne, we may see whether she will be guided," he says: She will recognize the throne. And it was narrated from Mujahid, 'Ikrimah, and Zuhayr ibn Muhammad similarly.
The second view:
16417 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Yazid ibn Ruman, "We may see whether she will be guided," i.e., whether she will be intelligent.
His saying, the Exalted: "Or will be of those who are not guided"

16419 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Yazid ibn Ruman, "We may see whether she will be guided," i.e., whether she will be intelligent, "or will be of those who are not guided," i.e., or will she be of those who do not understand. So he did that to see whether she would recognize it or not recognize it.
His saying, the Exalted: "So when she came"
16420 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: So Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Yazid ibn Ruman, "So when she came," he said: So when she arrived at Solomon and spoke to him, he brought out her throne for her.
His saying, the Exalted: "It was said, 'Is your throne like this?' She said, 'It is as if it were it.'"
16421 - My father narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Sulayman narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Sufyan ibn Husayn, from al-Hakam, from Mujahid, "So when she came, it was said, 'Is your throne like this?'" She did not know, so she said: "It is as if it were it."

١٦٤١٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: نَكِّرُوا لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنْظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِي يَقُولُ: تَعْرِفُ السَّرِيرَ- وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، وَعِكْرِمَةَ، وَزُهَيْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

١٦٤١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُومَانَ نَنْظُرُ أَتَهْتَدِي أَيْ تَعْقِلُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لا يَهْتَدُونَ

١٦٤١٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُومَانَ نَنْظُرُ أَتَهْتَدِي أَيْ تَعْقِلُ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ أَيْ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ لَيَنْظُرَ أَتَعْرِفُهُ أَمْ لَا تَعْرِفُهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تعالى: فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَكَذَا عَرْشُكِ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُ هُوَ
