Thus, it constitutes a consensus. Furthermore, it is an excretion to which the ruling of purification applies, so it invalidates wudu' just like what exits from the two passages. Their analogy is refuted by the case where a passage opens up other than the stomach.

Section: Wudu' is only invalidated by a large amount of such [excretions], not a small amount. Some of our companions said: There is another narration that a small amount also invalidates it. We do not know of this narration, and al-Khallal did not mention it in his "Jami'" except regarding regurgitation, and he discarded it. Al-Qadi said: It does not invalidate, according to a single narration. This is what is well-known from the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them. Ibn Abbas said regarding blood: "If it is profuse, he must repeat [the prayer]." Ibn Abi Awfa bled from his gums then stood up and prayed. Ibn Umar squeezed a pimple and blood came out, then he prayed without performing wudu'. Abu Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] said: A number of the Companions spoke about this. Abu Hurayrah used to insert his fingers into his nose; Ibn Umar squeezed a pimple; Ibn Abi Awfa squeezed a boil; Ibn Abbas said: "If it is profuse"; Jabir inserted his fingers into his nose; and al-Musayyib inserted all ten of his fingers into his nose and pulled them out stained with blood. He meant: while he was in prayer.

Abu Hanifah said: If blood flows, wudu' is required, but if it stays at the site of the wound, it is not required. This is based on the generality of his saying, peace be upon him: "Whoever vomits or has a nosebleed during his prayer, let him perform wudu'." Our evidence is what we have narrated from the Companions, and we do not know of any dissenter among them. Al-Daraqutni narrated with his chain of authority from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) that he said: "Wudu' is not required for a drop or two." Their hadith is not known for its authenticity; the authors of the Sunan did not mention it, and they have abandoned acting upon it, for they said: "If it is less than filling the mouth, wudu' is not required for it."
