The tenth part, beginning with Kitab al-Jihad (Struggle/Holy War) and ending with the end of Kitab al-Kaffarat (Expiations). At the beginning of the volume is the endowment note of Barsbay, witnessed by Ahmad ibn al-Nu'as and Muhammad ibn 'Ali al-Ayyubi, as well as the ownership note of Ibn Ma'ruf and Muhammad al-Marhumi. The part was written in a fine Naskhi script. Its scribe finished it on Saturday, the 16th of the blessed Rabi' al-Akhir, in the year 662 AH. It was collated against the original as far as possible. It consists of 243 folios, with a layout of 21 lines per page.

The eleventh part, beginning with Kitab al-Qada (Judiciary) and ending with the end of the book. At the beginning of the part is the endowment note of Barsbay and the testimony of Ahmad ibn al-Nu'as and Muhammad ibn 'Ali al-Ayyubi regarding the endowment. The part was written in a fine Naskhi script. Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Jami' al-Mawsili finished it inside the wall of protected Damascus on Tuesday, the 18th of the blessed Sha'ban, in the year 725 AH. It consists of 295 folios, with a layout of 25 lines per page.

We have adopted what was found of this manuscript as the base text and completed the missing parts from the following manuscript. You will find the folio numbers on the margins of our critical edition pages.

The first part, from the beginning of the book to the end of: "Section: The Prophet's family—may God bless him and grant him peace—are his followers in his religion..." from Kitab al-Salah (Prayer). On the title page: "Endowed, detained, and designated—this part and those following it from the division of twelve parts—for the students of the noble knowledge, to benefit from it in the lawful manner, by the servant poor before God Almighty, who hopes for the pardon of his Great Lord, 'Abd al-Basit [in the margin in a finer hand: May God Almighty strengthen him] ibn Khalil al-Shafi'i, may God perpetuate his honor, treat him with kindness, accept from him, and place his repository in the blessed library at the Khanqah established by the aforementioned person in the handwriting of al-Kafuri, near the Tankiz bathhouse.
