10 - ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us, saying: Shuʿba informed us, from Sulaymān al-Shaybānī, who said: I heard Yusayr ibn ʿAmr relate that when ʿUthmān, may God be pleased with him, was killed, Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī secluded himself in his house. I entered upon him and asked him—or he said: he asked about the affair of ⦗26⦘ the people—and he said: “Adhere to the congregation (jamāʿa), for Allah will never unite the nation of Muḥammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, upon error; and be patient until a righteous person finds relief or relief is found from a wicked person.”
