105 - Abū Jaʿfar al-Umawī, the Sheikh of the people of Hijaz, recited to me by a Bedouin from ʿUdhra:

Adhere to the God-fearingness of Allah, and be content with His provision, for the best of Allah's servants is he who is content.

Let not the worldly life distract you, nor greed for it, for desires have indeed ruined the deluded therein.

Be patient with the turns of whatever afflicts, and acknowledge it, for a patient servant and an impatient one are not equal.

Have you not seen that the people of patience are rewarded for their patience, for what they endured, while Allah is All-Seeing and All-Hearing?

And whoever has no blessing from Allah in his view except for what his ribs enclose on a given day,

has indeed perished in the world and his effort disappointed, and there is no preventer of provision that Allah has driven.
