126 - Al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Shayba narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Idrīs narrated to us, from Ṭuʿma ibn ʿAmr, from ʿAmr ibn Qays al-Māṣir, that Ḥuṭayṭ was a freed slave of Banū Ḍabba, and that when he was raised from before al-Ḥajjāj, having been reached by torture to the point of not speaking, a fly came and landed on his wound.

He said: "Ouch!"

It was said to him: "You endured torture with patience, and yet this is merely a fly?"

He said: "Indeed, this is not part of your torture."
