169 - Al-Mashriq ibn Saʿīd al-Qurashī narrated to me: Aḥmad ibn Wāṣil al-Kūfī narrated to me, saying: I used to write for the Ṭālibids, and a woman from the people of Mecca used to correspond with them. He said: So I wrote to them:

[Al-Ṭawīl meter]

Lo, by Him besides Whose Face there is no eternity, and Who has no equal in invincible honor!

If the beginning of patience is bitter, its outcome indeed yields sweet fruit from its aftermath.
