31 - Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to me, Ḥajjāj ibn Muḥammad informed us, from ʿUthmān ibn ʿAṭāʾ, from his father, who said: "Verily, Paradise is enclosed by patience and hardships, so it cannot be entered except through a door of patience or hardship. And Hellfire is branched with desires and pleasures, so it cannot be entered except through a door of desire or pleasure."
