90 - ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Azdī narrated to me, saying: ʿUmar ibn Maʿrūf al-Muʾaddib narrated to us, on the authority of Layth ibn Saʿd, from Khālid ibn Yazīd, from Saʿīd ibn Abī Hilāl, from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Sulamī, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of God be upon him, who said: "Through three things a servant attains the desirable things of this world and the Hereafter: patience during affliction, contentment with divine decree, and supplication during ease."
