98 - And Abu Bakr informed us, saying: Abu Hisham informed us, saying: Ibn Yaman informed us, from Sufyan, who said: "We follow the opinion of Umar, may Allah have mercy on him, regarding the [importance of] the community (al-jama'ah), and the opinion of his son [Abd Allah] regarding the [avoidance of] division (al-furqah)."
٩٨ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا ابْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: «نَأْخُذُ بِقَوْلِ عُمَرَ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الْجَمَاعَةِ، وَبِقَوْلِ ابْنِهِ فِي الْفُرْقَةِ»
