123 - Al-Hasan ibn Sufyan informed me, saying: Muhammad ibn Adam narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn al-Yaman narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, who said: 'The strife [fitnah] erupted while the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, were numerous. They reached a consensus that whoever sheds blood, violates an intimacy, or takes property based on a misinterpretation of the Qur'an, there is no hadd-punishment upon him, unless the property is found existing in its original state.'
