136 - Hamid ibn Ahmad informed me that he heard al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Harith al-Sijistani say that he asked Abu 'Abd Allah about the matter of the Khawarij among us. I said: "We are in a city where we manifest our opposition to them, pray in congregation, and hold the Friday prayer, except that if they write to the governor concerning a matter, the governor finds no choice but to carry it out." He said: "Do they manifest their opposition to them?" I said: "Yes." He said: "I dislike living in their neighborhood." I said: "What if his livelihood is there?" meaning in the city where they are. He said: "I hope there is no harm in it, but if you find a way out, then free yourself from them."
