157 - Mansur ibn al-Walid informed me that Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Nasa'i narrated to them that it was said to Abu 'Abd Allah: "Should he fight in defense of his traveling companions?" He said: "He should fight in defense of his property." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, only said: "Whoever is killed in defense of his property is a martyr."
١٥٧ - أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْصُورُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، أَنَّ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّسَائِيَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ، أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قِيلَ لَهُ: فَيُقَاتِلُ عَنْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتِهِ، قَالَ: «يُقَاتِلُ عَنْ مَالِهِ» ، إِنَّمَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ»
